Beginner’s Path

We can begin again at any time in our lives to chart the direction we would like to go. Getting started is often the hardest part. Once we are on the trail, we find ourselves growing more curious and daring to take another step just to investigate what we might discover and where that path takes us.

James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, tells us that having a mental image of who we are aspiring to be goes a long way in helping us actually achieve our “future self” goals.

In jujitsu, a student is taught to keep their head up and their mental sights set on the strategies that get them to their ultimate goal. This is wise advice to apply in our personal growth and self-discovery process too.

Keep your head up and your eyes open. Cultivate greater self-awareness to become more observant, curious and nimble.

Brene Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart and world-renowned researcher of human connection, underscores that anytime we are embarking on something for “the very first time” we are bound to stumble. She lightheartedly refers to our first time at anything as our shitty first draft.

Stop to think about the plethora of “first drafts” you’ve had in your lifetime. Every one of us starts from scratch with any new endeavor, first time life experience, and unplanned uprooting events.

Get started on your personalized Beginner’s Path by heading over to the Base Camp tab and fill your backpack with the Foundational Knowledge about how your brain and body are actually designed to work in your favor.

With this strong foundation, you can then wander through Base Camp and choose what you calls to you.

There is a first time for everything. We all start from scratch at many points in our lives. Use a “fresh start” as the potting soil for your personal growth.
